On May 3rd, students in the South Seneca TC3 Ceramics classes participated in the 35th Annual Feats of Clay competition. They competed against 30 other schools in the cylinder stack, mug production, no hands throw, blindfold throw, pot put, and the highest hand-built vessel. Students used their knowledge of clay techniques, teamwork, and sportsmanship to compete. In the end, South Seneca was ranked 17th out of 31. Although we didn't win, a fun time was had by all.

Our high schoolers are getting the "Save a Life Tour" experience today. The Save A Life Tour is a comprehensive high impact safe driving awareness program that informs, educates, and demonstrates the potentially deadly consequences resulting from poor choices and decisions made by the operator of a motor vehicle. The program specifically places emphasis on the following driving situations: Impaired Driving, Driver Experience, Improper Driver Behavior and Seat Belt Usage. Let's just say the virtual reality stations were trickier than expected!

On Friday May 3rd, the JV & Varsity Baseball team traveled to Cooperstown, NY where they visited the National Baseball Hall of Fame as well as played a game on the Historic DoubleDay Field. For those unfamiliar with DoubleDay Field, from 1940 to 2008 it hosted an annual exhibition game dubbed the “Hall of Fame Game” between two Major League Baseball teams each year. Today DoubleDay Field is maintained by some of the best groundskeepers around and is available for schools & organizations to play games on. The Falcons went on to beat Sharon Springs 4-2. Thank you to all those who helped make this trip possible through supporting our fundraising efforts & generous donations. We hope to continue this tradition in the years to come.

Our High School's Plant Science class visited Seneca Meadows Education Center and Seneca Meadows Wetland Preserve yesterday! Even though the day started out foggy, it was beautiful once they arrived in Seneca Falls! Students were able to learn about the history of the Wetland Preserve and were able to see many plant and bird species. Their highlight of the trip was viewing the nesting Bald Eagles and getting a glimpse of their young ones! They were able to see an Eagle fishing in one of the ponds nearby their nest as well. Mr. Fred Leff from the Montezuma Audubon Center was a great guide and helped them learn so much about the plants and birds that call the Seneca Meadows Wetland Preserve their home!
