High School Chorus has welcomed two guests recently. Rebecca Witty, an opera singer, came and worked with students on March 28. Rebecca gave the whole Chorus, including some 7th and 8th Grades students, feedback on singing and instruction during their warm ups. Rebecca also listened to four singers preparing to attend NYSSMA Solo Festival and taught them in a Master Class setting, which is individualized instruction in front of a group of people for the benefit of all. Rebecca worked with Abby Sherry (Grade 12), Sylvia Brock (Grade 11), Jacob Borst (Grade 11), and Ruthie Dendis (Grade 11). Students participated in a Q and A session as well.
On May 7, Dr. Daniel David Black, Director of Choral Activities at Houghton University, visited students in preparation for their upcoming concert. Dr. Black worked with Vocal Jazz students as well as HS Chorus. He instructed them through warm ups and did some fine tuning on pieces for the concert.
Kyla Perry, Choral Director at South Seneca, attended Houghton University with Rebecca Witty and Dr. Black. She was very happy to bring their immense vocal expertise to our students.

🎶🎵Congrats to our staff and students for last night's INCREDIBLE grades 6 through 12 Chorus Concert. It was a truly brilliant performance to be proud of! #foreverfalcons 🎶🎵

Our 6th Graders had a blast at Seneca Lake State Park today for the 55th annual Outdoor Education Field Day hosted by Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension. The day included opportunities within a variety of topics including outdoor education, environment, natural resources, and conservation. #foreverfalcons

The glow dance was a fun experience for our MS students this past weekend. Thank you to all the students and staff who helped make this memory for our kids.

On May 3rd, students in the South Seneca TC3 Ceramics classes participated in the 35th Annual Feats of Clay competition. They competed against 30 other schools in the cylinder stack, mug production, no hands throw, blindfold throw, pot put, and the highest hand-built vessel. Students used their knowledge of clay techniques, teamwork, and sportsmanship to compete. In the end, South Seneca was ranked 17th out of 31. Although we didn't win, a fun time was had by all.

Our high schoolers are getting the "Save a Life Tour" experience today.
The Save A Life Tour is a comprehensive high impact safe driving awareness program that informs, educates, and demonstrates the potentially deadly consequences resulting from poor choices and decisions made by the operator of a motor vehicle. The program specifically places emphasis on the following driving situations: Impaired Driving, Driver Experience, Improper Driver Behavior and Seat Belt Usage.
Let's just say the virtual reality stations were trickier than expected!

On Friday May 3rd, the JV & Varsity Baseball team traveled to Cooperstown, NY where they visited the National Baseball Hall of Fame as well as played a game on the Historic DoubleDay Field. For those unfamiliar with DoubleDay Field, from 1940 to 2008 it hosted an annual exhibition game dubbed the “Hall of Fame Game” between two Major League Baseball teams each year. Today DoubleDay Field is maintained by some of the best groundskeepers around and is available for schools & organizations to play games on. The Falcons went on to beat Sharon Springs 4-2. Thank you to all those who helped make this trip possible through supporting our fundraising efforts & generous donations. We hope to continue this tradition in the years to come.

You probably have noticed our capital project is underway, and our new Transportation building is being built. Here are a few updates of what has been completed, and what's right around the corner!

Last night's Silver Tea was one for the books! What a special group the Class of 2024 is. We cannot wait to cherish their last six weeks as seniors. But no matter what, they'll always be Falcons! #foreverfalcons

What a Career Day our high schoolers had today. A special thank you to all the visitors who came to share their expertise and insight! #foreverfalcons
