This week is National School Counselor Recognition Week. South Seneca is so lucky to have amazing school counselors, psychologists, and social workers who empower, support, and love our students. So let's show them how much they're appreciated! #foreverfalcons

Recently spotted at Sky Zone...soaring Falcons. Our eighth graders took a fieldtrip to Sky Zone and enjoyed the day bouncing, trying their teambuilding at the ninja course and rallying to support one another on the warp wall and foam pit high dive. They had a great time and were complimented by the staff and some other adults visiting the establishment who noted, our community and school "must be doing something right."

It was Falcon Day today, and our high schoolers had quite the day. They started off with "Coco with the Popo" and then got to choice if they wanted to do bowling or ice skating on their field trip to Geneva. Not a bad way to spend a Tuesday in February! #foreverfalcons

A huge note of appreciation for the work Robin Houseworth does with our students in the 4H club during Extended Day! Students were able to make sand art from salt, put together a healthy fruit salad, and do a coffee filter chromatography activity this afternoon.

The Governor’s recent proposal shows a $1.5 million (16%) reduction for South Seneca, all at once, for the 2024-25 fiscal year. This is not final. Letting your representatives know your concerns ASAP can still result in change. #foreverfalcons

We are lucky to be able to offer extended day, and our MS students take full advantage. The Makerspace program is popular in the MS. They work with 3D printing, VR equipment and basic coding concepts among other things. Thank you to Ms. Gale for the creativity she promotes in that program.

We are thrilled to be partnered with BRAVES as an extension of our work with Sweethearts and Heroes. This is a student leadership program that will run over the course of 6 weeks and train middle school students in leadership skills, advocacy and bully prevention. Our first two trainings allowed us to work with the third graders and truly let middle school students take the lead. Thank you to middle school and elementary school staff for the collaboration. A big shout out to our BRAVES students for their commitment and hard work.

Students in History vs Hollywood watched Hercules in order to compare the Disney movie to Greek mythology and see how accurately it is depicted.
