Dear South Seneca Sports Fans,

I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful summer!

It is with mixed emotions that I share that Head Football Coach Mike Pane has made the difficult decision to step down as the South Seneca Varsity Football Coach to pursue a new employment opportunity. While Mike explored the possibility of accepting his new position and continuing to coach, he ultimately felt it would not be possible.

We are incredibly grateful for Coach Pane's commitment to South Seneca Football and the positive impact he has had on our student-athletes. We sincerely thank him for his dedication and wish him nothing but success in this exciting new chapter.

To ensure our program continues moving forward, we will recommend the appointment of Kyle Collinsworth as the Head Varsity Football Coach at the next Board of Education meeting.

Coach Collinsworth invites all current and prospective football players to attend Football Camp on:
Sunday, July 26
6:00–7:00 p.m.
South Seneca Athletic Fields

This meeting will provide student-athletes and families with an opportunity to meet the new coaching staff, learn about preseason plans, and discuss the potential options for varsity football this fall. Attendance ​at this meeting is very important.  

At this time, the following possibilities are being considered:

1. Begin the season as the South Seneca Football team while continuing our merger with Romulus.
   Currently, 15 student-athletes have registered.
2. Expand the merger to include a third school district, pending approval by the Boards of Education of all participating districts.
3. Not offer a varsity football program this fall if participation numbers remain too low to safely field a team.

If your student-athlete has not yet registered for football, please do so as soon as possible. Registration numbers are critical as we determine the best path forward for our student-athletes and our football program.

Player Registration Information:

Parents are required to sign up their athlete using the FinalForm platform.

Included in the flyer below is a “Parent Playbook” with information on how to use the new FinalForms registration platform. The good news is that parents will only need to provide medical and supporting information once per school year. Families will still register their student-athletes for each individual season and team, but the streamlined process will make registration more convenient and efficient.
